How Does Acupuncture Works For Pain and Sports Injuries?

Traditional Chinese acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely fine needles into the skin at specific “acupoints.” This creates micro damage to the tissue which forces the body's own healing properties to create blood flow to the tissue which reduces inflammation, increases circulation and relaxes tight muscles.  Acupuncture can also help relieve pain by releasing endorphins, the body’s natural pain-killing chemicals, and by affecting the part of the brain that governs serotonin, a brain chemical involved with mood which benefits anybody living with pain.  Acupuncture should be used for acute and chronic injuries, as well as pre/post surgery.
